Who are the most famous lesbian and bisexual celebrities?

Everyone knows about Ellen, so we’ll skip her, as amazing as she is. There are bisexuals, there are lesbians, and there are famous celebrities who dare to tread the road not taken, opening opportunities for women across the world. Through their incredible actions, these women have shown that everything is possible. Here are the best in our humble opinion.

Cynthia Nixon

I remember barely believing it when the Sex and the City star came out. In 2012, she married Christine Marinoni. Talking about her sexuality five years prior, she said she didn’t feel anything had changed. She said she’d never been in love with another woman, but when she fell in love with Marinoni, it didn’t feel weird to her in the very least.

Lea DeLaria

In 2015, Lea DeLaria received the Equality Illinois Freedom Award for using her talent to enlighten and entertain millions of Americans. She plays Big Boo on the hit show Orange is the New Black.

Lily Tomlin

Back in 2008, actress Lily Tomlin came out, saying that everybody in the industry probably knew about it all along and they knew about her partner, Jane Wagner. She married Jane in 2013 after living together for 42 years!

Sarah Paulson

In 2016, Paulson of American Horror Story said she was seeing actress Holland Taylor. Between 2004 and 2009, she was in a relationship with actress Cherry Jones.

Kate McKinnon

McKinnon is the first openly gay woman on Saturday Night Live. Interestingly, she realized she was a lesbian after she’d been watching the X-Files for a while. She got butterflies in her stomach whenever the camera was pointed toward the main characters, which she always attributed to David Duchovny. In fact, it was his co-star Gillian Anderson.

Cara Delevingne

The model and actress openly identifies as bisexual. Most recently, she’s been linked to Kristen Stewart’s ex Annie Clark, a musician, and Michelle Rodriguez.

Samira Wiley

Lea DeLaria’s costar Wiley is also openly gay. She’s married to Lauren Morelli, one of the writers on Orange is the New Black.

Portia De Rossi

Portia De Rossi started dating her current wife Ellen DeGeneres in 2015, which is also when she came out. In her words, she had “many years of being not open” and she finds it an honor to be asked about her sexuality.

Rosie O’Donnell

Rosie O’Donnell was one of the first Hollywood celebrities to come out publicly, which she did in 2002. She proclaimed her gayness at a benefit dedicated to ovarian cancer research while she was doing a stand-up routine. To this day, she wonders why people make a big deal about being gay.
